My name is Doug Hall and I’m one of the trustees at Emmaus Bradford. I also volunteer in the charity shops.

How I joined Emmaus Bradford

I was looking for a charitable project on retirement and a flyer in the Church Times coincided with an email from Bradford Diocese seeking trustees for Emmaus.

After a degree in economics and a masters in business studies, I started working in market research, then I set up a market research company. I remained as MD till retirement. I’d consider my biggest achievement to be running a company on Christian principles.

What is great about being a trustee

I’m very grateful for 51 years of a wonderful marriage. At Emmaus, it’s the relationship with other trustees and volunteers, working together to start a community. Emmaus is one of the best ways to reduce homelessness.
