How we are managing the risk

From Wednesday 14th April our shop and coffee shop will be reopening. The safety of everyone in our community is our number one priority. There are many ways in which we’re working to make sure that the people we’re supporting continue to be as safe as possible, as we welcome customers back into our shop.

We have taken our time to ensure that the site complies with the governments’ guidance on managing the risk of Covid-19. These include the following:

  • Managing public flow and a clearly visible one-way system, using arrows and signage
  • Clear signage and messaging
  • Limiting the number of people in each area
  • Training for all companions, staff and volunteers
  • Hand washing and sanitising stations
  • Enhanced cleaning of all areas
  • Individual risk assessments for all companions, staff and volunteers
  • Adequate PPE provided for all staff, companions and volunteers
  • Perspex screens at the tills
  • All donations will be quarantined for 72 hours before sorting
  • Constant ventilation throughout the shop and coffee shop.

Our on-site and vehicle risk assessments can be downloaded below.
