We’re delighted to be one of the many charities and community projects to have benefited from a proportion of £117,401 in funding from The Cambridge Building Society.
The positive impact of The Cambridge Building Society on local charities and good causes like ours was celebrated in its annual report published this week.
In 2024, The Cambridge Building Society launched Community Partnerships with us, Jimmy’s Cambridge and The Angels Foundation UK, with each of us receiving a £5,000 donation, as well as organising numerous volunteering hours from team members.
The company also donated £59,127 of the £117,401 total to six local charities via their Community Fund.
The Impact Review 2024, published this week, highlighted that over 2,000 individuals benefitted from the financial support and grants provided. Additionally, 131 staff members volunteered over 1,000 hours to support local projects.
Our Chief Executive Officer, Donna Talbot said: “We’re delighted to feature alongside numerous other charities in The Cambridge’s Impact Report. We have loved working with the team and are thrilled the partnership will continue in 2025.
“We have a busy year ahead and have lots of opportunities to build on the fantastic work and projects developed over the previous 12 months. The positive impact that The Cambridge and their wonderful colleagues and customers is having so far is incredible and we look forward to this going from strength to strength”
As quoted in their Impact Review, Carole Charter, chief commercial officer at The Cambridge, said: “Reflecting on the different ways we’ve been Making The Difference throughout the year always brings me tremendous pride, but 2024 felt like a really special year here at The Cambridge.
“We expanded and strengthened many of our initiatives, enabling us to further support our community.
“This year we’re celebrating our 175th anniversary. And to mark this, we’ve committed to donate £175,000 annually from our profits to good causes in our community. Keep your eyes peeled for even more developments throughout the year.”
The Impact Review outlined the significant contributions made during a record-breaking year, which also saw the society expand its support for people trying to get onto the housing ladder.
