We had a wonderful day at Trelissick, the National Trust estate near Truro this week, as we were joined by employees from the Falmouth based manufacturing company Watson & Marlow, to collect seeds in the stunning woodland.

Watson & Marlow is a company that actively encourages its employees to give back to the community, offering them four paid days each year to engage in voluntary work of their choice. The team chose to spend one of these days with us, lending a helping hand in the important task of seed collecting. Not only were they enthusiastic and eager to get involved, but their positive energy made the entire experience even more enjoyable for everyone. Seed collecting is especially crucial during the autumn months, as it’s the prime season for gathering and preserving seeds that will be processed and stored in the fridge, until they are ready for planting in the new year.

We are always incredibly grateful for the efforts of volunteers who dedicate their time to support our conservation work, and having the Watson & Marlow team join us, made the day even more special. Their contribution is invaluable, and it’s heartwarming to see a company actively promoting such positive initiatives.

We run several corporate group volunteer sessions like this seed collecting day, if you are interested in volunteering alongside your colleagues please let us know by submitting our online form or emailing us at emmauscommunitytrees@gmail.com
