At Emmaus, we help tackle furniture poverty by giving free furniture in Coventry and Warwickshire, to those who can’t afford it.
Furniture poverty means not having enough money for essential furniture and appliances, such as a bed, sofa, cooker or fridge.
If you live in Coventry or Warwickshire and you can’t afford furniture, your agency worker (e.g. social worker, resettlement officer, medical practitioner) can ask for help from Emmaus. If we say yes, we’ll give you up to £100 worth of furniture from our charity shop in Coventry, and we’ll deliver it to your home for free.
We’re only able to help two households per month, so please ask your local council for help first. They might have support that’s better for you. You can find your local council’s Emergency Support Scheme on the End Furniture Poverty website.
Thank you for coming to Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire to help your client out of furniture poverty.
If an application to the local Emergency Support Scheme wasn’t successful, and you’re a professional (e.g. social worker, resettlement officer, medical practitioner), you can apply for Furniture Aid for your client in Coventry and Warwickshire here.
If approved, your client can pick furniture worth £100 at our Coventry charity shop and we’ll deliver it to their home. We can also choose items for them if they prefer.
