We are different to other homelessness services. Our Coventry-based charity doesn’t just offer a bed for the night; we provide a home and meaningful work.
We accommodate up to 17 adults who are at risk of, or have experienced, homelessness. We supply accommodation, all meals, basic clothing and toiletries along with support within a secure environment. In return, our ‘companions’ work within our community to the best of their abilities. This can be in the home, in our charity shops, or driving to collect/deliver furniture or food.
Our companions live in our accommodation in Coventry: the Old Vicarage on the Brinklow Road in Binley, which is set in an acre and a half of its own grounds. Our building offers single occupancy bedrooms and shared living spaces.
If you are experiencing homelessness or sleeping rough and are interested in joining our community, you are very welcome to get in touch. Each person is considered on an individual basis. Please be aware we usually have a waiting list so we are rarely able to offer someone a room immediately.
We also take referrals from homelessness agencies, probation services, healthcare professionals – anyone who cares enough to want to help someone improve their life. We are always happy to send out referral packs, show you around or talk on the phone.
Our success depends on creating and maintaining a stable community; before anyone is accepted, detailed assessments of need and risk are undertaken. We do often accept those with complex problems, provided the community as a whole is able to support them.
