Are you passionate about improving the lives of people experiencing homelessness and social exclusion? Join Emmaus Hull & East Riding as our new Warehouse Operative & Driver and help us to increase the impact we have across our region.
Emmaus Hull & East Riding is a vibrant and growing charity focussed on supporting people affected by homelessness. We don’t just offer a bed for the night; we offer a home for as long as someone needs it, as well as meaningful work in our social enterprises and a sense of belonging.
A large proportion of our charity’s income is generated via our social enterprise which is based around our charity shops and the collection and sale of furniture, household goods, clothes, textiles, books, music, and bric-a-brac.
Emmaus is unique in that the people we support – our companions – directly contribute within our social enterprise, gaining valuable skills, confidence and experience to help them achieve their personal goals. Our companions work alongside local volunteers and contribute in all areas of our social enterprise.
This is an exciting time to join us and be a central part of the continued development of our social enterprise. We have a new Emporium charity store in Hull city centre as well as our Furniture Superstore and Newland charity shop, online retail outlets, warehouse and workshop.
To help take us forward and realise our ambitions, we are now seeking a Warehouse Operative & Driver to help ensure the ongoing flow of stock, to and from our social enterprise. You will have excellent people skills, a belief in the potential of everyone, and a focus on delivering great customer service.
The role will cover van driving, scheduling and the supervision and development of companions and volunteers. We are looking for someone with van driving experience, great teamwork skills and knowledge of warehouse and delivery logistics. You will be able to lead by example, inspire others around you and motivate people in their daily work.
Above all else, our new Warehouse & Driver recruit will be values-driven; aligned to our mission, vision and passionate about our cause. If you’re looking for a rewarding and exciting new role that will have a long-lasting impact, then this is the perfect time for you to get involved with Emmaus Hull & East Riding.
