After an unprecedented period of shutdown, our Emmaus Leeds charity stores will reopen soon with new safety measures in place. Please read on to find out about visiting our stores, donating items and arranging a collection of furniture.
Our top priority is the well-being of our companions, staff, volunteers, trustees, supporters and the local community. To ensure the safety of our team and all visitors, we have carried out a risk assessment for reopening and put in place measures to minimise the risk of virus transmission.
The Emmaus Leeds Secondhand Superstore will reopen from Tuesday 16 June. Our superstore will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 4:45pm. The Emmaus Leeds Market Stall will reopen from Tuesday 16 June and the opening hours will be Monday to Saturday, 8:30am to 4:00pm. Our Emmaus Leeds online stores (on eBay, Depop and Discogs) will all reopen from Monday 15 June.
Firstly, if you are showing any coronavirus symptoms or feel unwell in any way, please do not visit our charity stores.
To ensure that physical distancing rules are maintained, our team will be monitoring the number of people within our superstore. We are limiting the amount of people in store at any one time so you may be required to queue prior to entry. We are also limiting entry to a maximum of two people from the same household plus one child. If you are visiting as a family, please stick together and ensure that your child stays close at all times.
Everyone is required to sanitise their hands on entry at our new sanitiser stations. Please handle items as infrequently as possibly, especially those you do not intend to buy. Stick to the directional arrows around the store and ensure that you maintain at least a 2 metre distance from others at all times. When purchasing items, please pay by card and use contactless payments where possible. Delivery service will be available for larger purchases but some new controls will apply.
If you are visiting our Secondhand Superstore, please note that St Mary’s Street is partially closed due to road works on the A64. Although you can still reach us on foot via Mabgate and the town centre, those in cars will have to approach us via Burmantofts Street and Rider Street.
If you are visiting our Emmaus Leeds charity stall at Leeds Kirkgate Market, please follow the guidance issued by the market.
We know that many people have been saving up items to donate to Emmaus Leeds. We have resumed collections of good quality furniture, kitchen appliances and electrical items. Unfortunately we are unable to currently accept donations of smaller items such as clothes, books and bric-a-brac. Please do not leave donations outside of our store or bring items to us before this date. Find out more about donating goods to Emmaus Leeds.
We will continue to follow the latest advice and guidance from government, our local authority and the Charity Retail Association. Keep checking our website and social media pages for the latest information and any changes to our operations. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns via info@emmausleeds.co.uk
