We’re working together to end homelessness; could you work with us? Emmaus is a secular, worldwide, social enterprise movement that exists to fight poverty, homelessness and other forms of social exclusion.
We provide a home and meaningful work experience to 27 people who have experienced homelessness, known as Companions, offering them a stable home and an opportunity to find a long-term route out of homelessness.
We’re looking for someone who can help us empower and enable Companions to move back into independent living, as they gain work through volunteering in all different areas of the social enterprise such as retail, furniture deliveries, warehouse work and white goods refurbishment.
You will need to be a good team player and be able to work effectively under pressure, whilst supporting a diverse group of people. Assisting in the day to day running of the Community and providing structured support to Companions requires effective interpersonal skills as well as strong administration and time management skills. and the personal resilience to work with a challenging client group. Common sense, a practical mind set and a good sense of humour are essential. Your working days will be Tuesday to Saturday (37.5 hours per week) We will be paying £24,200 per year, with annual reviews, plus a generous pension package and 25 days annual leave.
