CLOSING DATE: 20 June 2022 LOCATION: Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland TYPE: Volunteer

The Emporium shop, on Stockwell Head, is run by our homelessness charity Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland. It currently specialises in furniture and household goods.

Having recently purchased the adjacent vacant building, we’re now preparing to knock-through and open a second-hand clothing department as part of the expansion. Volunteers are urgently needed to assist with sorting donated clothes to prepare them for the shop floor.

We’re all really excited about finally having the space to sell preloved clothing in our popular Emporium store. Since we reopened after the recent lockdown, many kind-hearted local people have been donating their unwanted quality clothing, shoes and accessories. We now have a room full of bags and hope that some volunteers will come forward to help us sort through the items, steaming and hanging them ready for our new clothing department later this year. We’re a friendly, welcoming team and volunteering hours can be chosen to suit a person’s availability.
