Emmaus North East has been awarded the iiE Bronze Green Accreditation for our commitment to sustainability.
Emmaus North East is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless people. Part of this support, includes recycling and reusing products in our workshop and shops, providing good standard housing and being an integral part of the community at large. Environmental values are important to
us and are integrated into our daily business. We are committed to green issues and will ensure that our impact on the environment is reduced.
We have worked hard to align our activities with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and have a team of staff, companions and volunteers committed to achieving ‘Going Green’ accreditation.
Emmaus North East is compliant with all applicable standards, laws, requirements, regulations and public/customer expectations.
We will continue to improve our environmental management system by working to the Investors in the Environment (iiE) criteria, considering any changes in legislation, our organisation, and other factors. We will convey this policy to all our employees ensuring that they are provided with
training to increase awareness of environmental matters.
