Companions from Emmaus Oxford joined the Intertronics team for an afternoon of pedaling on two stationary bikes to raise funds for Emmaus Oxford. The fundraiser spanned four days of continuous cycling, virtually covering the distance from Kidlington, Oxfordshire, to Erding, Germany.

The Kidlington-based adhesive company, Intertronics, originally mapped out a real-life route, virtually travelling from Intertronics offices in Kidlington, to their suppliers offices in Wiesbaden, Germany. Smashing their initial 500-mile target by the second day, the company extended its goal, setting its sights on Bayern, Germany. After 33 hours of cycling, the event raised £5000 for the Emmaus Oxford, which will help renovate our new move-on houses.

“Amazingly, we reached our initial goal of Wiesbaden, the HQ of our supplier Dymax, in just two days,” said Ben Swanson, Joint Managing Director of Intertronics. “We extended our target not once, but twice. First, our team cycled onward from Wiesbaden to Bayern, and then plucky cyclists from Emmaus Oxford added an extra 40 miles to our total, taking us on a victory lap. We like to think we reached Therme Erding, a fabulous spa complex and a fitting end for a 915-mile cycle.”

Eddie Blaze, CEO of Emmaus Oxford, said, “We are extremely grateful for Intertronics’ support. The money raised will contribute to building Emmaus Oxford’s move-on houses, enabling us to increase the number of formerly homeless people we can support.”
