Emmaus communities provide a home and meaningful work for people who have experienced homelessness, helping them to find a way to move on with their lives.
From house clearances to getting involved with the wider community, we offer a wide range of services.
There are many ways you can support us, from volunteering to donating goods. Your support means that we can do what we do best - helping those who need it most.
Our volunteer work is more vital than ever
We’re proud that we’re still working hard to provide our weekly help for local rough sleepers.
We’ve managed to adapt how we do this to ensure everyone’s safety and maintain social distancing.
For over a year now, a group of our formerly homeless Emmaus Oxford companions has volunteered to support those currently sleeping rough. Each week, the team hands out hot food and useful supplies, as well as advice.
As you can see – our team’s now all prepared with masks and other protective clothing – and is busy preparing for this week’s session. Every Thursday between 5.30pm and 7.30pm, rough sleepers are offered free food, supplies and advice in front of our Emmaus building at 171 Oxford Road.
