We’re delighted to launch our Homelessness Matters podcast, which highlights the many reasons someone may become homeless and raises awareness about what being homeless truly means.
In each episode you’ll hear from someone with experience of being homeless who has received support from one of our 30 Emmaus communities in the UK. The podcast explores a variety of important issues including mental health, addiction, debt, domestic violence and much more.
A new episode will be released each month – available on all major podcast platforms. Scroll down to discover our latest episodes, plus links to listen and subscribe.
If you enjoy our podcast, please help us spread the word by leaving us a review.
Like any organisation, Emmaus has its share of terminology which you are likely to hear within our podcast episodes.
Companions – people being supported by Emmaus who have experienced, or been at risk of, homelessness.
Community – the name we give to the place Emmaus companions live.
Solidarity – doing something to help those less fortunate than yourself.
Emmaus is a national homelessness charity with a difference. We don’t just give people a bed for the night; we offer a home, meaningful work, support and a sense of belonging. There are 29 communities supporting more than 850 formerly homeless people across the UK.
You only have to read the stories of some of the people we have supported to see what a difference Emmaus makes.
