Emmaus Salford  is highlighting the ongoing support offered by its School Uniform Hub, which distributes school uniforms and shoes to children in need across Salford.

Established in August 2020, in collaboration with Guinness Partnership and Sal’s Shoes, the Hub has become a dependable resource for families seeking assistance in ensuring their children are ready for school.

The Emmaus Salford School Uniform Hub offers a wide selection of items, including shirts, sweatshirts, skirts, trousers, socks, pumps, shoes, and PE tops. These items are sourced primarily from collection points at local schools, lost property, and individual donations. The Hub also stocks new uniforms, thanks to generous contributions from Tesco Extra in Swinton and national retailer, Sockshop.

“We are proud to continue serving the Salford community through our School Uniform Hub,” said Jackie Smith, Chief Executive at Emmaus Salford. “Our aim is to ensure that no child misses out on their education due to a lack of proper school attire, while also promoting sustainability by reducing textile waste.”

The Hub’s collaboration with Sal’s Shoes, a charity that has redistributed over two million pairs of children’s shoes globally since 2013, has been essential in providing quality footwear to those in need.

How to Access the Hub

Families in need of school uniforms can access the Emmaus Salford School Uniform Hub by appointment only. Referrals are required and can be made through the Salford Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB) or local schools. Once a referral is received, Emmaus Salford will contact the family to arrange a safe and convenient appointment time at the Hub, located at Emmaus House, 101 Fitzwarren Street, Salford, M6 5RQ.

Supporting the Hub

The ongoing success of the School Uniform Hub relies on the continued generosity of local people. If your child has outgrown their school uniform or shoes and the items are still in good condition, please consider donating them to the Hub. Donations should be clean, bagged or boxed, and labeled ‘School Uniform Hub Donations’. Items can be dropped off at the Emmaus Salford Community Homestore during its opening hours.

Businesses and organisations interested in supporting the Hub are encouraged to reach out to Emmaus Salford to discuss how they can contribute.
